Stars in the origami sky

(To my FB friends, you are seeing this again because I decided to put this on my blog)

I’m teaching a class in which we will make a mobile with 3D origami stars. I haven’t decided on a type of mobile-hanging display yet (if anyone has any interesting ideas, let me know!), but these are the ones I’ve made for myself while perfecting the technique for teaching in class. (It works best with heavier weight origami paper.)

A unique feature of this design is that it uses just one piece of paper – all other stars that resemble this one are origami modules.

This star design only uses one piece of paper.

This star design is the BEST 3D origami star on the web!

3D holopgraphic plastic paper star

This one was made with holographic origami plastic – striking, but VERY difficult to do unless you have a lot more experience with this figure.

There’s exactly one(!) YouTube video of this design that I’ve found and I actually downloaded the video if, for some reason, the site shuts down or the video is removed:

If I find a better version (or even make an updated video myself!) I will post it here and on FB.
